Johnny Wrestling! It’s been a rough year for Johnny Gargano. After starting the year as part of the NXT Tag Team Champions, his partner turned on him and beat him up, followed by a bad losing streak to make things even worse. It’s been turning around as of late though and Gargano had the biggest chance of his career in a big match earlier tonight.
This week on “NXT”, Gargano defeated Aleister Black, Killian Dain and Lars Sullivan in a four way match to become the new #1 contender to the NXT Title. The title match will be the main event of “Takeover: Philadelphia” on January 27. Gargano and Almas already met earlier this year at “Takevoer: Brooklyn III” with Almas winning in a back and forth match.
Here’s a clip of the four way:
Johnny Gargano vs. Aleister Black vs. Killian Dain vs. Lars Sullivan: WWE NXT, Dec. 27, 2017
Opinion: This is a heck of a potential main event for Philadelphia and if it sets up Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa in New Orleans, we’re in for some seriously awesome moments in the next three and a half months. Gargano winning is the right call and his rematch with Almas could be a heck of a classic in its own right.
Do you like Gargano winning the match? Will he win the title? Let us know in the comments below.
