We’ll catch her down the road. It’s almost hard to believe that Ronda Rousey made her in-ring debut less than a year ago at WrestleMania 34. Including that first match, Rousey has had one of the best rookie years of all time as she has run through the Monday Night Raw women’s division with no one really getting close to her. As it turns out though, she might be wrapping things up sooner rather than later.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Rousey will be finishing up with WWE very soon, with her last night in the company likely being the night after WrestleMania 35. At the moment, this could still be considered just a hiatus rather than a full on exit from the company. Rousey made her debut at last year’s Royal Rumble and is scheduled to defend her title at WrestleMania 35.
Rousey was certainly there last night. Check out her attack on Becky Lynch from this week’s Monday Night Raw:
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised at this as Rousey has been rumored to be leaving the company for a long time now. Rousey may have had the greatest rookie year for any female wrestler ever and one of the best of all time for anyone. I’m sure WWE would welcome her back with open arms, as they should, down the line and that’s always going to be a possibility.
What have you thought of Rousey’s time with the company? If she leaves, will she be back? Let us know in the comments below.
