Not so much anymore. No matter how talented a wrestler may be, there is going to reach a point where they get stale in one way or another. A star could have been around too long and the magic starts to fade, which can lead to them needing some kind of a change. That sort of switch can have a huge impact on their careers and that might have been the case this week.
Over the last few weeks on Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens has referred to himself as the Prizefighter, a return to his original WWE gimmick. At the same time, his attitude has begun to change into more of a fan favorite. According to PWInsider.com, as of this week, WWE has officially changed Owens from a heel to a babyface on their internal roster. Owens got in a pull apart brawl with Austin Theory this week and a match between the two was set for next week.
Opinion: This feels like something that had been the reality for the last few weeks before the official change was made. Owens has been much more of a good guy for a long time now and that is suiting him better as of late. I could go for a lot more of this Owens and it is nice to see that WWE seems to agree. There is a lot of potential in Owens and letting him get out there and do what he does best is a great idea.
What do you think of Owens? How would he be best used in WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
