Goldberg =/= Jericho. As the Universal Champion, Kevin Owens is going to be someone who gets a lot of media attention. In this case, he was a guest on ESPN’s Off the Top Rope segment with Jonathan Coachman. Part of the interview, included below, includes a segment called One Word where Owens sums up a given subject in one word and elaborates on that word a bit.
In addition to Chris Jericho (“Friend”) and winning the Universal Title (“Fulfilling”), Owens described Goldberg as an “enemy”. Here’s what he said to elaborate on the subject:
“I guess the one word I would call him is the enemy. Because growing up as a hardcore, die-hard WWE fan, he was the enemy, because he was the figurehead of WCW. The poster boy.”
Goldberg and Owens had some issues last week on “Monday Night Raw” and while it’s not clear if the two will have a match going forward, it’s interesting to imagine what the two of them could do in the ring together. While I can’t imagine Owens getting to be the one to put Goldberg down, at least the match could be one heck of a brawl, especially if Owens is allowed to be his traditional self.
Do you think we’ll get a Goldberg vs. Owens match? Would you like Goldberg to get one more title run? Let us know in the comments below.
