There is no question that WWE World Champion AJ Styles has had one of the most outstanding years of his professional wrestling career in 2016. So much so, that he was my pick for the top superstar of the year.

But, even the best make mistakes.

At a recent WWE Live Event in Bossier City, Louisiana, the champ was defending his title against John Cena and Baron Corbin in a triple threat match. Styles unfortunately lost his footing on the tope rope, while trying to execute a superplex on Corbin, and it caused the “Lone Wolf” to take a nasty bump on the outside of the ring:

Nothing has been reported by WWE about an injury to Corbin.

Styles and Cena will be competing in a one-on-one match at the upcoming “Royal Rumble” for the championship. As for Corbin, he made his intentions known last week on “Smackdown Live,” stating that he will be entering the official “Royal Rumble” match:

Editor’s Note:

Yikes, that looked pretty nasty. But, such is the nature of the business. We hope that he is OK!
