The mainstream push continues. As announced on the official “Saturday Night Live” Twitter, John Cena will be guest hosting the show on December 10 with musical guest Maren Morris. This continues Cena’s rise through the mainstream, which has included guest hosting “Good Morning America”, hosting the “2016 Espy Awards” and
appearing in various films.

Cena is hardly the first wrestler to try his luck on “Saturday Night Live”. Mr. T. and Hulk Hogan appeared on the show back in 1985 to hype up the first Wrestlemania and the Rock has hosted the show several times. On his first appearance, Rock appeared in a scene with Mick Foley, Triple H and the Big Show.

This is starting to get interesting. Cena is getting bigger and bigger roles in Hollywood and this is a fairly prestigious moment. This is the kind of role that is going to be tailor made for Cena, who seems to be at his best when he’s showing off his obvious comedic talents. The show could be a lot of fun and could make Cena into an even bigger mainstream star.
Are you a fan of Cena’s mainstream appearances? Will you be watching his episode of “Saturday Night Live?”
