Total Divas Isn’t Shying Away from Paige and Del Rio Drama

The relationship between current WWE diva Paige and former superstar Alberto Del Rio has been an unavoidable case of schadenfreude for wrestling fans the past few months. For a wide variety of reasons, we assumed that WWE would attempt to sweep everything involving this unlikely pair under the rug. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

The latest Total Divas promo is putting that drama front and center.

The first NXT Women’s Champion and two-time Divas Champion was at one point the biggest female superstar in WWE, but she disappeared following her draft to Monday Night Raw in July.

The reason for that disappearance, of course, was an injury and subsequent suspension for wellness policy violations. Those violations, she claimed, were in connection with prescribed medications, though WWE says they were for “illegal substances.”

Then Paige started dating former WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio, who made his own problems with World Wrestling Entertainment quite well known. Del Rio, as we understand it, is still married to his former wife, but is now engaged to Paige–who, we might add, is 15 years younger than Alberto.

We first caught wind that the pair would be featured on the reality show in October, but it’s still shocking to see WWE acknowledge the relationship in any official capacity.
