One joke can go a long way. After being fired by Evolve for his comments over the weekend, Joey Styles has been let go by two more wrestling companies. Chikara owner Mike Quackenbush let Styles go today in a blog on Chikara’s official website. As expected, Styles was fired from Chikara over the joke that he made at “Evolve 72” over the weekend. Chikara is known for being a more fun promotion and geared more towards family viewing.

Styles has also been let go by Beyond Wrestling as per the Tweet below.

At the show, Styles made a joke about Donald Trump and the promotion’s female ring announcer involving sexual assault. Styles was fired almost immediately and made a personal apology to everyone involved with the announcer accepting his apology. He also refused his pay for the event and left before it was over.

I get where Chikara is coming from with this. They’re a very family friendly promotion and the material of Styles’ joke isn’t something that a lot of parents will want to have to explain to their kids. In Styles’ defense, he really does seem to have just gone too far and realizes his mistake. That can go a long way in smoothing things over down the road but Styles needs to go away for a little while.

Should Styles be fired for his actions? Do you think he’ll eventually be back with either of these promotions? Let us know in the comments below.
