Come on over! There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster, to the point where they can be split into a variety of different rosters. WWE has Monday Night Raw, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK, the latter of which does not get a ton of attention. There are talented stars over there, but now they might be going to appearing on another program in a completely different country.
This week’s NXT featured several NXT UK stars appearing throughout the show. First up, Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) attacked the Diamond Mine. Later in the show, Indi Hartwell was interrupted by Blair Davenport, who promised to win the NXT Women’s Title. Finally, following Bron Breakker’s successful NXT Title defense against JD McDonagh, Tyler Bate debuted and stared Breakker down. Of note: Bate held the United Kingdom Title, which is currently vacant and being decided in a tournament on NXT UK TV, which has not yet completed the first round.
Opinion: If NXT UK wasn’t done yet, it seems that they are pretty much finished at this point. With the top stars coming over to NXT and no more TV tapings currently scheduled, I’m not sure what kind of a future it has. NXT UK has not exactly offered that much to WWE in recent months, so maybe this is the best thing. If nothing else, it ends the question of “why does this show exist” and that is a good idea.
