Don’t get used to it. WrestleMania is the biggest event of the WWE year and likely the most important on any wrestling calendar all year. The event usually draws tens of thousands of fans to a major football stadium with one of the most stacked cards around. Some of the shows are bigger than others of course and that was certainly the case last year for a specific reason. That will be the case again this year, but maybe not so much going forward.

The big change coming out of last year’s WrestleMania 36 was the switch from one night to two. This change came in front of a non-existent crowd in the Performance Center due to the Coronavirus pandemic. With no one in attendance, things were changed a good bit due to the entire situation. That same change will still be taking place this year, but what about after this year?

Stephanie McMahon was interviewed by TV Insider to promote this year’s Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 37. McMahon mentioned that the current plan was not to continue having two night editions of WrestleMania after this year. The two WrestleManias split over two nights were due to the Coronavirus pandemic alone. Earlier this month, WWE announced that WrestleMania 38 in 2022 will be held on one night.

Opinion: I’m not sure I’m surprised at this and as a fan, I’m kind of glad. I wasn’t a fan of the two night setup last year and I’m not wild on it again this year. WWE does not exactly have the best record when it comes to keeping timing under control and having two nights of WrestleMania makes for a rather long weekend. Hopefully WWE can make it work out and if they can make two nights work going forward, so be it.
