He’d like them to say YES. Daniel Bryan returned to the ring back in April at WrestleMania 34 in a major surprise. After being on the shelf for three years, Bryan was back in the ring and didn’t look to have missed a step. He’s still crazy popular with the crowd and seems to be healthy, which seems that it’s time to give him a major push. Bryan has some ideas of his own though, and some of them might surprise you just a little bit.

In a new interview on the Gorilla Position, Bryan talked about the process that led to his in-ring return, which focused on getting medically cleared by a group of neurologists. Bryan was able to be cleared by all three, which was enough to get him cleared by the WWE medical staff. As he was being cleared, Vince McMahon suggested that Bryan would be working a limited schedule, which caused Bryan to mention what he saw as his ideal schedule. Here are his comments, with transcription courtesy of Fightful.com:

“I’ve been talking to WWE about maybe doing a lighter schedule because when Vince told me to send the letter to Dr. Maroon he said for me to say ‘for a limited schedule,’ They clear me and I’m just on everything. I wasn’t expecting this. When people asked me before ‘what’s your ideal schedule?’…anywhere between 50 and 100 matches a year.”

Opinion: I can understand the idea of not wanting to have Bryan in the ring very often. While he’s a big star and one of the most popular wrestlers in a very long time, he’s also injury prone and that’s not something you want to really mess with anymore. Bryan is 37 years old and there’s a good reason to believe he might get hurt again. Do you really want to put that much on him and then have to cancel everything because he gets hurt? Use him in select spots and keep him safe, which is the best idea all around.

Do you think Bryan will be WWE Champion again? What should he do after his Team HELL NO reunion? Let us know in the comments below.
