Well at least there’s a reason. Over the last two weeks, both Drake Maverick and Lio Rush have appeared on Monday Night Raw. This is a pretty surprising change of pace as the 205 Live talents haven’t been on the show in a very long time. While neither of them wrestled, they were both acting as a manager/talker for others. It’s quite a different course and you might be wondering why it happened.

According to Fightful, the 205 Live talents have been appearing on Monday Night Raw for two reasons. First, they are being brought in to help revive acts that are seen as having lost steam and needing help. Second, the 205 Live roster only wrestles a handful of matches every month and there’s no reason to bring in someone new when these talents are already on the roster.

The visual is still amusing.

Drake Maverick aligns with AOP: Raw, Sept. 3, 2018

Opinion: It’s rather true and a problem that has been noticed before. Maverick and Rush are both charismatic talents who can do something positive for the Monday Night Raw wrestlers. They might as well put the guys out there and see what can be done here. That being said, the issues that the Authors of Pain and Lashley are far less about having them talk but much more about what they’ve had to do in recent weeks. Of course WWE is never going to admit those problems or really fix them so this is about as good as it can get.
