That would be a big si. Vince McMahon can do some surprising things at times. I know his currently booking choices might not be the most popular in the world, but there’s no denying that he knows what he’s doing in wrestling. That means knowing how to pick the right stars when, and every so often he’ll put someone out there at the right time to shake things up. That might be the case in just a few months.
According to Joe Peisich’s Barnburner Fired Up podcast, McMahon is incredibly high on Andrade Cien Almas, to the point where he is considering making Almas the winner of the 2019 Royal Rumble. This would be quite the surprise and would go against the recent rumors that the Rock was the favorite to win the upcoming Royal Rumble. Almas made his main roster debut back in May and has been moved up the card in a hurry since.
It would be a long way from this:
Opinion: That’s quite the jump for Almas and I’d believe it when I saw it. He’s an awesome talent and someone I could see getting a heck of a push in the near future, but giving a rookie the Royal Rumble win isn’t something that happens every day. It’s happened before such as with Alberto Del Rio and Brock Lesnar, which means it’s one heck of an honor to win at such an early part of your WWE career.
Do you think Almas could win the Royal Rumble? Who do you pick to win at the moment? Let us know in the comments below.
