The Grudge Match: Tag Team Title Match Set For AEW Revolution

That’s a big one. We are coming up on AEW Revolution and that means things are going to get a lot bigger in a hurry. AEW does not run very many pay per views in the first place so seeing them getting to be on the major stage matters quite a bit. There are so many things that they can cover and Dynamite usually does a good job of setting things up. That is the case again as they have a huge match set up.

One of the top stories over the last few weeks in AEW has been the issues between Hangman Page and the Elite. Page left the team due to his previous failures and has been at odds with them since. However, he went on to win the Tag Team Titles with Kenny Omega, furthering the wedge between himself and the team. That includes the Young Bucks and things are about to get more complicated.

This week on Dynamite, the Young Bucks won a tag team battle royal to become the #1 contenders for the AEW Tag Team Titles. They will challenge Omega and Page, who confirmed their spot in the match by successfully defending their titles against the Lucha Bros later in the show. This will be the first time that the teams have ever faced each other in any promotion.

Opinion: This is hardly a surprising result but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. They have set this match up for several weeks now and it should be a heck of a fight when they get in the ring. There are several ways to go with the story and you could see all kinds of possibilities. I’m not sure how the match ends and that’s a nice feeling, as far too many matches have clear winners these days.
