That’s a big change. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been the official sale of WWE to Endeavor, putting someone other than the McMahon Family in charge of the company. That is going to change some things in the company, and now there is a rumor about what might be quite the change that takes away even more power from the lone McMahon left standing.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: And Out: Two WWE Superstars’ Contracts Set To Expire This Weekend

According to PWInsider.com by way of Wrestlingnews.co, a rumor has been making the rounds in WWE that Endeavor has chosen as the main force behind WWE’s creative direction. McMahon is said to be no longer be involved in the creative department. It is not clear when this change was made or when McMahon left the company’s creative, as no announcement was made.

According to Fightful Select, this is said to be a major boost in WWE backstage morale in recent weeks. This follows a period of lower morale when McMahon returned to WWE earlier this year. Sources cite the lack of last minute changes and different wrestlers being pushed as reasons to believe McMahon is gone. Wrestlers are said to have not been flat out told McMahon is gone, though they were also told that he was making creative changes earlier this year, even though it was known that he was doing so. However, some sources said something along the lines of they’ll believe it when they see it with regards to McMahon being gone, as he had previously retired before coming back.

There’s a history there. Check out how things have been going in recent weeks:

Opinion: This is something that would be quite the change of pace but I’m not sure I believe it either. At the end of the day, McMahon has long been obsessed with everything that takes place in WWE and it would be almost hard to fathom him being gone. That being said, it is easy to see that things have changed in recent weeks and by a good number of accounts, it has been for the better.
