That could be worse. There are very few things in wrestling that can slow momentum down like an injury. You never want to see someone go down hurt but unfortunately there is not much that can be done to present it from happening. That was the case with one of the biggest names in wrestling earlier this week, but things might not be as bad as they originally seemed.
Earlier this week, former AEW World Champion CM Punk announced that he had broken some bones and would need surgery to repair the injury. As a result, Punk will be out of action, though he did not specify how long. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Punk is expected to be out of action for less than six months. While no specific recovery time was listed, it was described as “not a long time”.
Opinion: That is certainly good to hear as Punk being out of action for any length of time is a bad thing, but not being out of action for all that long is an improvement. I’m not sure who is going to be waiting on Punk when he gets back, but it is nice to see that this could be a lot better. Punk is in one of the final stretches of his career, so any time he can have in the ring is great to see.
What do you think of Punk? How will he do when he gets back? Let us know in the comments below.
