They’re done. WWE has been around for a long time and there are certain things that they have focused on over the years. Tag team wrestling is not one of those things that gets a lot of attention, as the company has a history of splitting teams up before they have a chance to do very much. That seems to be the case again, as WWE appears to have split up another tag team.
This week on WWE Main Event, Cedric Alexander defeated Shelton Benjamin in a singles match. The match would suggest that the two of them have been split up as a team despite no on-screen breakup. Benjamin and Alexander had teamed together as the Hurt Business in multiple stints, including earlier this year. They first teamed together in September 2020 and held the Raw Tag Team Titles for nearly three months.
Opinion: This is a weird one but it isn’t like the team was doing anything in the last few months. Benjamin and Alexander are a completely competent team and they could do well if needed, but WWE is not exactly a tag team focused company. I’m curious to see how things might change under the new WWE bosses, but there is a good chance that this is it for Alexander and Benjamin.
What do you think of the breakup? What is next for the two of them? Let us know in the comments below.
