That could be a lot worse. We are coming up on AEW’s All Out event early next month and the question of what will headline the show was likely answered this week on Dynamite. At the end of the show, World Champion CM Punk made a surprise return after a two month absence due to a foot injury. It was a big deal and now we know a bit more about what is going on.

According to PWInsider.com, Punk’s foot injury was indeed as bad as previously reported and he is still rehabbing. The foot was causing him severe pain only a few weeks ago and he was recently seen in a walking boot. Punk is not expected to wrestle until All Out on September 4, though his match has yet to be announced. However, Punk had a staredown with Interim AEW World Champion this week on Dynamite.

Opinion: The fact that Punk is back is what matters most, as he was reaching the point where having an interim World Champion was too much. Punk vs. Moxley is about as obvious of an All Out main event as you can get and hopefully Punk is at full speed for the match. The match has a built in story so there isn’t much needed to get to the title match, but Punk needs to be at full strength to make it work.

What did you think of Punk’s return? How do you expect All Out to go? Let us know in the comments below.
