There are a lot of titles in WWE and that means there are a lot of people holding titles. With so many titles, there are going to be a lot of title changes taking place as well. It makes sense to put most of them on pay per view but every now and then you get something interesting on a television show instead. A lot of these can be surprises, but there are some where you know they’re coming from the second the match is announced. We seemed to be in for another one of the latter this week.

This week on Monday Night Raw, the Viking Raiders defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions. The match was set up last week when the Raiders defeated Roode and Ziggler in a non-title match. Since their debut in NXT in April 2018, the War Raiders have yet to be pinned or submitted in a tag team match. They won the NXT Tag Team Titles but vacated them to come up to the main roster. The team was drafted to Monday Night Raw on last week’s SmackDown.

Just watch this but imagine it being a title match. Check out the match that set up the title change:

Opinion: This is a title win that is long overdue and it’s about time for the Raiders to get the belts. They have yet to lose in nearly two years in WWE and yet they had only won the minor league tag team titles. It isn’t like there was some dominant team on Monday Night Raw that could hold the titles as Ziggler and Roode were thrown together and won the titles a few weeks later. Just go with the team that makes sense and figure out what to do next. You can only have a team as dominant as the Raiders and not put the titles on them for so long and we passed that point a long time ago.
