It’s quite the request. Jon Moxley is in a rather interesting place at the moment. Earlier this year he was a pretty big star in WWE but now he has moved over to AEW and become a top star. His appearance at Double Or Nothing was quite the moment and he is still one of their biggest acquisitions. Moxley still wrestles outside of AEW though and in one case, he was allowed to hand pick his opponent.
Moxley appeared as a surprise guest at the Northeast Wrestling event on June 15 and defeated Big Cass in a match. According to Sports Illustrated, Moxley specifically requested to face Big Cass in an effort to showcase Big Cass on a non-WWE stage. The two will meet again at another Northeast Wrestling event on August 17. Moxley and Big Cass are friends from Florida Championship Wrestling where the two were roommates.
The two had a heck of a match. Check out a clip, also including Enzo Amore:
Opinion: You don’t get to see a star the caliber of Moxley getting to give someone that kind of a rub on his own. It’s quite the gesture from Moxley, who has his own star power and ability to rise up the ranks in AEW. Having him show this level of kindness to Big Cass is a nice touch, even if they have been friends before. Hopefully Big Cass can get things together and make things work as he certainly has talent.
Do you think Big Cass will make it back to WWE? What is next for Moxley after All Out? Let us know in the comments below.
