It’s not like it could get much worse. The last few weeks have not been kind to WWE as the fans are just not seeming to be interested in what WWE is offering. There are a variety of things to blame for that but it was clear that something needed to be changed. Some of those changes took place at Extreme Rules, but did this help fix the television audience issues?

According to 411mania.com, both this week’s Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live ratings and viewership saw large increases over the previous week’s shows. This week’s Monday Night Raw’s .80 rating (best since May 21) and 2.453 million viewers (best since July 1), up 11% and 4% over last week’s .72 rating and 2.352 million viewers. This week’s SmackDown Live drew a .65 rating (best since May 29) and 2.122 million viewers (best since April 16), up 23% and 15% over last week’s .53 rating and 1.853 million viewers.

There were big deals going on with both shows. Check out a highlight of each:

Opinion: I’m not sure what changed everything at once, but this does seem to be quite the improvement and a good sign. Now, none of that matters if the numbers go right back down, but it’s certainly better than those numbers going down a few more pegs. The results have to get better over time and a single step in the right direction is certainly better than nothing.
