The big man stepped in. We are in an unprecedented time in wrestling at the moment with government orders being used to fight the spread of the Coronavirus, but at the same time they are doing a lot of damage to the wrestling industry. Since there are only so many people in one place at one time, wrestling companies are having some issues with getting their shows out there. It almost got a lot more complicated than ever before.

AEW is one of the two wrestling companies that has been able to hang in there every week with new shows. Some of them are taped in advance but having so many resources at their disposal can help them a lot. However, there are limitations to what they are capable of pulling off and that limit was on display earlier this week, when things almost got shut down.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, this week’s AEW television taping was nearly shut down by the state of Georgia. The show, which was taking place at QT Marshall’s gym in Norcross, Georgia, was interrupted by the officials but AEW produced paperwork stating that the show was allowed to continue. The officials stayed around to make sure that everything stayed acceptable. It is not clear how much material was taped but it could last the company through the middle of May. There is no word on what will happen when new material is needed.

The shows taped in the location already looked good. Check out how things have gone so far:

Opinion: This sounds like it is turning into a scene from a movie with people running from one location to the next to stay a step ahead of the authorities. That’s all that can be done at the moment but the question is how long they can keep going on like this. The solution seems to be taping as much as possible in advance, as it can at least buy the companies some time. Hopefully it works, but who knows for how long that is going to last.

Where else could AEW tape? What are the companies’ best solutions? Let us know in the comments below.
