The Empress of Tomorrow from yesteryear. Asuka is set to make her main roster debut this Sunday at “Tables Ladders and Chairs 2017” in a match against Emma. It will be the first chance for a lot of people to see the undefeated Asuka, who ran roughshod over NXT for the better part of two years. That sounds like the time for a flashback to me.

WWE has posted the full version of Asuka challenging Bayley for the NXT Women’s Title at “Takeover: Dallas”. This was the real arrival for Asuka, as she took the title in a solid win over the fan favorite. Bayley would stick around NXT for a good while after, but it was clear that the guard had been changed. Here’s the match:

FULL MATCH — Bayley vs. Asuka - NXT Women's Title Match: NXT TakeOver: Dallas

Opinion: I was lucky enough to be in the building for this match and you could feel the air go out when Bayley lost. She wasn’t just defeated, but rather dismantled as Asuka took everything Bayley threw at her and bounced back without too much trouble. It was the start of a major run for Asuka, though I don’t think anyone knew how big.

What did you think of this match? How well will Asuka do on the main roster? Let us know in the comments below.
