Coming attraction. One of the bigger moments of this week’s “Smackdown Live” saw former Smackdown World Champion AJ Styles challenge current champion Jinder Mahal to a title match at a future date. Mahal didn’t think much of it and said that Styles was at the back of the line. Styles beat the champ down and a match seems to be in the cards. Therefore, some practice seemed to be necessary.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, Styles faced and defeated Mahal in a non-title match after this week’s “Smackdown Live” and “205 Live” tapings ended. While there is no title match currently on the books, Styles is scheduled to face Mahal’s lackey Sumil Singh next week on “Smackdown Live”.

Here’s the end of the match:

Dark Match - AJ Styles vs Jinder Mahal after WWE SmackDown Live Went Off Air | SD 17/10/17

Opinion: This is one of the most logical matches they could have put on in the dark match and there’s nothing wrong with that. The fans love Styles and want to see him defeat Mahal so it’s not like there’s any real harm in having Mahal lose here. Odds are Styles is going to get a big time title match after Mahal faces Brock Lesnar at “Survivor Series 2017” so a tune up couldn’t hurt.
