Full Match: 2017 Royal Rumble

There’s one more to go. We’re almost done with the build to the Greatest Royal Rumble and, as is WWE’s custom, that means it’s time to open the vault one more time. The show has such a long history and it makes sense to have the fans in the mood for one of the biggest matches WWE has ever put together. In this case, that means going back in time a little over a year for a match that had as many possible winners as this week’s version has.

FULL MATCH - Royal Rumble Match: Royal Rumble 2017 (WWE Network Exclusive)

WWE has posted the full version of the 2017 Royal Rumble match to its YouTube channel. The match was for a title shot of the winner’s choice at the upcoming WrestleMania XXXIII against either Universal Champion Randy Orton or then WWE Champion John Cena, who would lose the title to Bray Wyatt at the next month’s Elimination Chamber pay per view. Randy Orton would go on to win the match, his second career Royal Rumble win, and eventually become WWE Champion by defeating Wyatt.

Opinion: This was one of the more interesting Royal Rumbles as there wasn’t a runaway favorite as they came into the match. That makes things all the more fun to watch as you never know who might walk out with the big win and the title shot. Orton may not have been the best choice to win the thing, but at least it gave the fans something to cheer for instead of having to boo another Roman Reigns win.
