The following contains spoilers for upcoming “NXT” shows.

Just in case their roster wasn’t strong enough already. Tonight at the “NXT” tapings, former Ring of Honor World, Tag Team and Television Champion Roderick Strong made his debut as Austin Aries’ partner in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Strong is the latest former independent World Champion to join the NXT roster.

Strong and Aries have teamed together over the years, including a run as Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions as part of Generation Next in 2005, which still stands as one of the four longest reigns in the history of the title. He also held the Ring of Honor TV Title earlier this year. Strong has also seen some time in TNA, teaming with Aries for a short while.

I’m all for adding more talent to NXT. They’re in need of top names, especially with Hideo Itami’s recent injuries. Strong has been around for a very long time and has an impressive resume so adding him to the fold is a great idea. You can never have too much talent, especially when the main roster takes talent so often.

Are you a fan of Strong? Would you rather have seen someone else as Aries’ partner? Let us know in the comments below.
