The “Cruiserweight Classic” was as great as it was because WWE specifically wanted to have the best performers who were under two hundred and five pounds in the world.

That gave new performers a chance to shine, which has transitioned nicely into the “Cruiserweight Division” on Raw.

Thus far, the matches have been different and given Raw a new attraction to keep the WWE Universe guessing every week. However, it hasn’t caught on the way it did during the CWC, so WWE is looking to expand the roster to add more layers to the division.

According to a report from CageSideSeats.com, WWE is no longer using the 205-pound weight limit for the division as they were in the “Cruiserweight Classic.” Obviously, this is to expand the division and give others the chance to be featured as cruiserweights.

For example, Sami Zayn and Neville have been struggling to find spots on Raw every week despite overwhelming talent in the ring. Now, the cruiserweight roster could be open to both veterans, which means we may see a lot of exciting matches very soon.
