Welcome home. The last few weeks have seen a bunch of new names signed to WWE as they’re restocking the NXT shelves. In the last few days, the promotion has signed a high flier, a female wrestler and a tag team, but there was one more rumored name. While not confirmed, a former World Champion seemed ready to sign with the company. We now know that person’s status for sure.
Tonight at NXT “Takeover: Philadelphia”, Ethan Carter III was shown in the crowd where he was announced as a newly signed NXT talent. He was billed as EC3 and no mention of his previous time in WWE was mentioned. Carter previously wrestled in NXT as Derrick Bateman from 2010-2013.

Opinion: The name alone makes me feel better about this as I was worried that he would be Bateman again or something else like that. We know he’s a bigger deal now and hopefully WWE lets him be the character that got over so well. Let him do what works and then we’ll see how good he really is.
What are you expecting from Carter’s NXT run? Who else do you want to see signed? Let us know in the comments below.
