Retrospectives can always be fun, even at the end of January.

Tonight, on the pre-show to “NXT Takeover: Philadelphia,” the Year-End awards for 2017 were presented. Every winner was voted on by the fans using social media.

The winners were as follows:

Overall Competitor of the Year – Asuka

Rivalry of the Year – Aleister Black vs. Velveteen Dream

Male Competitor of the Year – Aleister Black

Breakout Star of the Year – Aleister Black

Female Competitor of the Year – Asuka

Match of the Year – Tyler Bate vs. Pete Dunne – WWE United Kingdom Championship Match at NXT TakeOver: Chicago

Tag Team of the Year – SAnitY

Future Star of NXT – Cezar Bononi

TakeOver of the Year – NXT TakeOver: WarGames

I have to say that I agree with all of these winners. I don’t know much about Cezar Bononi, but I will trust that the fans know what they are talking about. With the current group of talent, I cannot wait to see what 2018 has for NXT!
