This is getting bad. WWE has just wrapped up a huge weekend with all kinds of things going on from a heck of a Takeover to a pretty solid Survivor Series, but one story that was not so positive was that of Corey Graves and Mauro Ranallo. Graves did not have the most positive things to say about Ranallo’s commentary at Takeover, which seemingly caused Ranallo to delete his Twitter account and then no show Survivor Series. It wasn’t done on Sunday though.
On Wednesday, Graves issued an apology to Ranallo for the situation via his After The Bell podcast. Graves talked about a tweet that he sent out on Saturday which was controversial. He went on to say that it was not professional and he never intended to hurt anyone. During the apology, Graves never actually mentioned Ranallo by name or why he sent out the tweet. However, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the idea was to tie into the Brand Supremacy theme of Survivor Series, with Graves planning on mentioning the tweets the next night at Survivor Series. However it might be a long time before that happens.
Before we get there, we’ll look at something Graves and NXT related. Check out a pretty big announcement:
Ranallo was nowhere to be seen on this week’s edition of NXT, with Tom Phillips taking his place at play by play. While Ranallo was mentioned during the show, the only statement about him was that he was not here, with no explanation of why he was gone or when he would be back. On Sunday at Survivor Series, Michael Cole said that Ranallo was absent due to blowing out his voice. There is no word on when or if Ranallo will be back at NXT.
Ranallo certainly has his own moments. Check out Ranallo in NXT:
Opinion: This is a situation that seems like it could go from bad to a lot worse in a hurry. Ranallo’s mental health issues turn this whole thing up to a completely different level and makes Graves comments even less necessary. They didn’t really make things any better and I’m not sure how bad this is going to get. Hopefully it isn’t something that gets even worse, though that very well may be the case.
How do you see this going? What will happen to Graves? Let us know in the comments below.
