The continuing tradition. There are a lot of wrestling shows in wrestling history and that makes for some long running concepts. Some of the shows are more famous than others but that does not mean they can’t be good. WWE has brought back a few of the older names before to some mixed results and that will be the case again on Sunday. What is going to be taking place though?

Back in 2017, WWE brought back Starrcade, which had served as the flagship event for the National Wrestling Alliance and World Championship Wrestling from 1983-2000. The event stopped taking place for seventeen years until WWE revived it with a house show. The following year, the event aired on the WWE Network in a shortened version. That is taking place again this year and now we know what to expect.

WWE has announced a pair of matches for the upcoming Starrcade event. The show will air on the WWE Network on December 1 with at least two matches airing. First up will be Bobby Lashley vs. Rusev in a Last Man Standing match. The match will be their first in a feud that has run several weeks now. The second match will see the Women’s Tag Team Champions the Kabuki Warriors defending their titles against Nikki Cross/Alexa Bliss, Natalya/Becky Lynch and Bayley/Sasha Banks in a four way.

Both matches should be a big deal. Check out how both of them were set up:

Opinion: Starrcade is something that can work very well for the sake of the history, though it isn’t like it means anything in the long history of WWE. If nothing else, it gives WWE claim to another show that AEW and Cody might be trying to trademark. The show should be entertaining and some of the matches should work, assuming they take place as advertised, which is certainly no guarantee.
