So long and farewell. One of the major stories out of Global Force Wrestling this year has been the rapid fire changes to the roster and list of talent. This includes the commentary team, which seems to be undergoing a change of pace of its own. In some good news though, this one seems to be under good terms.
According to his official Instagram, Pope D’Angelo Dinero is finished with Global Force Wrestling. The split seems to be amicable and Dinero didn’t appear on last night’s “Impact Wrestling”. This was Dinero’s second stint with the company which started back in 2015. Jeremy Borash and Josh Matthews are now the regular commentary team.
Here’s Pope calling out Bobby Lashley for a fight last year.
Pope and Lashley Fight it Out!
Opinion: I wasn’t the biggest Pope fan but he certainly wasn’t terrible. Above all else, I’m happy to have the booth back to two people as you’re only going to get so far with two faces and a heel on commentary. Also, I don’t get why he didn’t wrestle more than once in his second run. He was active in Ohio Valley Wrestling and was even a champion there until December 2016.
Did you like Dinero more as a commentator or a wrestler? Do you want to see him wrestle more? Let us know in the comments below.
