That’s a long time. Cedric Alexander is one of the longest reigning champions in WWE, having held the Cruiserweight Title for about six months. Alexander won the title at WrestleMania 34 and has held the title ever since, holding on against a variety of strong opponents. It feels like he’s held it even longer than that, and it turns out that he’s been on a heck of a winning streak.
According to the official WWE Stats And Information Twitter account, Wednesday October 3 marked one year to the day since Cruiserweight Champion Alexander lost a singles match, not counting non-televised matches. Alexander has a few house show singles matches earlier in the year, though he has been undefeated in singles matches for over eight months. His last televised loss of any kind was on September 11’s 205 Live, marking his first loss since January 21. Alexander is scheduled to defend his Cruiserweight Title against Buddy Murphy on Saturday at Super Show-Down.

Maybe this is how he’ll lose the title.
Opinion: And yet, how many people had any idea this was the case? 205 Live has done a great job of making people not care about their show in the slightest, though at least they’re starting to get somewhere with the route they’re taking. At least they have a star in Alexander, even though he’s not the most charismatic guy in the world. If he survives Murphy, I have no idea who is going to take the title from him.
