CM Punk Making Wrestling Related Appearance In Chicago Over All In Weekend

Is He All In? Independent wrestling is a weird beast. At the end of the day, the idea is to have wrestling not associated with WWE or other major promotions but there’s only so much you can do without WWE talent. No matter how you look at it and no matter how much you don’t want it to be true, WWE is the undisputed king pf wrestling from a business standpoint. Therefore, if you have a big indy show coming up, it’s a good idea to have a big former WWE name involved if you can. Speaking of which, there’s All In coming up.

This would be more of the style we’re going for.

ROH Anniversary Flashback: CM Punk vs AJ Styles - Pure Title Tournament Finals

According to CBS Sports, Punk will be appearing at the Pro Wrestling Tees store in Chicago on August 31. This is the day before the Chicago area will be hosting the upcoming All In indy wrestling supershow on September 1. At the moment, there is no word on Punk appearing for the show but the announcement of the signing has fans speculating. All In is being held at the 11,000+ seat Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.

Opinion: I know it’s probably overthinking things and there’s a good chance that this is exactly what Punk and the All In team were hoping for, but this got me a lot more interested in the show, to the point where I was thinking about going. Having Punk appear, even as a surprise, would be a big coup for the show and it’s not like it would be hard to fit him in. Just have him be Cody’s latest Business Bear and take the head off later in the show. It would be a heck of a pop if nothing else.
