Akira Tozawa confronts WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville: WWE 205 Live, June 27, 2017
It’s not quite a demotion. One of my favorite WWE stories over the last few weeks has been the Cruiserweight Title feud between champion Neville and Akira Tozawa. Neville is ready to defend the title against Tozawa, who received his title shot thanks to signing with Titus International. There’s been a bit of a change though.
As announced tonight on “Monday Night Raw”, the match has been moved from the main card to the Kickoff Show at Sunday’s “Great Balls of Fire” pay per view. Neville has been champion since “Royal Rumble 2017” while Tozawa is fresh off winning his feud against Brian Kendrick.
Opinion: I actually like this move a lot as it lets the match have the time that it needs. This is the same feeling I had when they moved the Austin Aries vs. Neville match to the “Wrestlemania XXXIII” Kickoff Show. The match was given more time as a result and that’s always good when you have a match with this kind of potential.
Who do you think wins the match? Do you like it better on the Kickoff Show or main card? Let us know in the comments below.
