It’s a fickle business. WWE has one of the fastest turnover rates in all of entertainment. Depending on the whims of Vince McMahon, a WWE wrestler could be promoted or dropped in the blink of an eye and that can become a problem. Someone can go from being one of the hottest acts in wrestling to absolutely nothing, and unfortunately that seems to be the case with a rather unique team.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the AOP may have lost their push during Akam’s time on the injured list. Akam missed several months of action due to a knee injury and now that the team has returned, they lost a house show match to the makeshift team of Ali and Matt Hardy at a July 7 house show. The team has not wrestled a televised tag match since the December 17, 2018 Monday Night Raw.
They’ve had some success before. Check out the AOP’s crowning achievement:
Opinion: Given the situation the tag team divisions on both shows are currently in, the AOP would seem to be the biggest layup you could have. They’re a pair of monsters who could destroy almost anyone in front of them with relative ease and they’re jobbing to a makeshift team at a house show? Maybe this means nothing, but it’s not looking like the best sign for the team’s future.
Is AOP in trouble? Will they ever win the Tag Team Titles again? Let us know in the comments below.
