Hand it over. There are certain concepts that WWE presents year after year, often around the same time. Those are the things that you see in special moments and they can often lead to all kinds of big differences later on. Some of them can take you a bit more by surprise though, and that was the situation this weekend as something happened to result in a title change.

This weekend at Summerslam, Bianca Belair defeated champion Asuka and Charlotte to win the WWE Women’s Title. Following the match, Iyo Sky cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase and defeated Belair to win the title. After winning the title, Sky celebrated with her Damage CTRL teammates, Bayley and Dakota Kai, the latter who appeared as a surprise. This marked Sky’s first singles title on the main roster.

Opinion: The cash-in was a nice surprise and that is the point of the concept. Sky has been teasing a title win for a long time and it is cool to see her finally get her moment. That being said, Sky is going to have to overcome the issues that come with cashing in the briefcase to win the title, as it does not have the best track record with permanently elevating someone to the next level.
