Or not? Stipulations are a great way to enhance a feud as it turns a second match into something that much bigger. A stipulation can correct an error that happened in the first match or boost up the stakes and violence in the next match. It can be even bigger if the third match is bigger than the second, but this time around that does not seem to be what is going to happen.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Timing! Here’s Why WWE Is Not Adding More Matches To Summerslam After Building Them

This weekend at Summerslam, Cody Rhodes is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar in their third match. Rhodes defeated Lesnar at Backlash but Lesnar won the rematch at Night Of Champions. Despite rumors of potential stipulations for the match, there is currently no stipulation set. According to Fightful Select, a stipulation was never planned or even seriously considered for the match. While there were rumors of a dog collar match taking place, it was reportedly never considered.

It’s been a long way here. Check out what got us to this match:

Opinion: That’s certainly a strange way to go and I’m not sure I get the thinking. At the end of the day, this is a huge blowoff match to the feud but for some reason it isn’t getting the usual boost that such a match gets. The two of them are capable of having an intense violent match and that might even be what the feud calls for, but for now it is going to be more basic, which is certainly a different way to go.
