He has to start somewhere. One of the biggest stories coming out of WrestleMania 36 was the crowning of a new Universal Champion as Braun Strowman finally got the monkey off of his back by winning a World Title. Strowman’s title win was long overdue and now he has finally accomplished his goal. Now he needs to be a defending champion though and we seem to have a first challenger.
Strowman has been around WWE for a few years now and that means he has built up a few rivalries in that time. It is something that happens to everyone and it can help them later on when things pick up a bit. In Strowman’s case, he has several options to choose from and as it turns out, it seems that his first feud as Universal Champion will be a call back to earlier in his career.
This week on SmackDown, Strowman defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title match in the main event. After the match was over, Bray Wyatt popped up on screen in the Firefly Fun House. Wyatt talked about his history with Strowman and said that he wanted Strowman’s Universal Title back. Strowman agreed to the challenge, though no match was officially set. Wyatt brought Strowman to the main roster as part of the Wyatt Family, though they have never had a televised singles match.
I’d say they’re ready. Check out the end of show showdown:
Opinion: It’s not like they have another direction to take. After Wyatt defeated John Cena at WrestleMania, there was no one else for him to face at the moment. He has a history with Strowman in the first place and it would make sense to have the two of them face off. The match could be interesting, though I’m not sure how it would wind up going as far as the title is concerned.
Who do you think would win the match? Is this a good first feud for Strowman? Let us know in the comments below.
