The match is set. While AEW and WWE get most of the attention in the wrestling world, there are some other promotions that are still around and doing some very good things. One of these promotions is Impact Wrestling, which has gotten a nice boost by bringing in some of the WWE releases from back in April. One of them is getting a pretty big push and it is culminating at their most prestigious show of the year.

Back at Slammiversary in July, Eric Young made his return to Impact Wrestling. Young was one of the mystery entrants in the main event for the vacant Impact Wrestling World Title but came up short. However he would win the title a few weeks later by defeating Eddie Edwards to start his second reign. Young has made some enemies though, and one of them will get his shot soon.

This week on Impact Wrestling, the main event of Bound For Glory was announced, with Rich Swann receiving his shot at Young and the World Title on Saturday, October 24. Swann also returned to the ring at Slammiversary after missing nearly a year with an injury. Swann would eliminate Young from the match, causing Young to destroy Swann’s knee. This would nearly cause Swann to retire, but he returned to attack Young, setting up the title match.

It was a big moment. Check out how the match was set up:

Opinion: The match could be interesting, but I’m not sure if Swann vs. Young is the kind of match that feels like it should be headlining the most important show of the year. It should be a good match but I’m not sure if it is a good main event. Swann has wrestled one match in nearly a year and now he is headlining Bound For Glory? I could go with the match on the show and the story is there, but it doesn’t quite feel that big.
