I can’t say I blame him. There are so many wrestlers under the WWE banner today that it is almost impossible to keep track of them all. That is the case for the fans and it is even harder for the company at times. Sometimes they are going to have nothing to do for someone no matter how talented they are. That is almost the case for a current WWE star, who does not seem pleased.
Monday Night Raw’s Mustafa Ali wrestled Ricochet during this week’s Main Event tapings prior to Monday Night Raw. Ali sent out a tweet about the match referring to himself as “MainEventMustafa” and promising that the match would be the best of the week. Ali has taken issue with his placement on WWE cards in recent months, including before the breakup of Retribution.
This is not the first time that Ali has been on Main Event as of late, as he was in the corner of several members of Retribution in recent matches. Ali has only won a single match this year, defeating Riddle on the March 1 Monday Night Raw. His Retribution stable broke up earlier this year, leaving Ali without much to do. He has not wrestled on Monday Night Raw since April 5.
#MainEventMustafa returns this week. It’s gonna be the best match of the week too.

Opinion: I can’t say I blame Ali for being frustrated with his spot. WWE has been having issues drawing an audience to Monday Night Raw for a long time now and for some reason they do not seem interested in trying someone fresh. I don’t know if Ali would be the next big thing, but how many more people are not going to watch because he is on the show? Trying something for a week can’t hurt and yet WWE is content to just do things this way instead.
