You had to know this one was coming. In less than three weeks, WWE will present its first all women’s pay per view with Evolution. The idea is long overdue but it’s the first time that the roster could actually handle something like this. There will be some battles of the generation, but there will also be a ton of title matches. Above all else though, we have the Raw Women’s Title, which was set up tonight.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Rouse and the Bella Twins defeated the Riott Squad in a rematch from Super Show-Down. After the match was over, the Bellas attacked Rousey and laid her out before posing with the Raw Women’s Title. Later in the night, it was officially announced that Rousey would defend the title against Nikki at Evolution on October 28. This match has been rumored for several months.
This just doesn’t seem smart.
Opinion: I still don’t get the appeal of this, but the idea of watching Nikki hang in there against Rousey, even with Brie’s help, is pretty laughable at best. The match should last all of five minutes at most but I have a bad feeling that it’s going to get three times that length, which is one of the worst things they could do for Rousey as well as the viewing audience. But hey, it might make Total Divas audience go up.
