He might be in trouble. You never know how well someone is going to do when they get the call to go from NXT up to WWE. Some people are far more successful than others and that can create a lot of headaches for fans in a hurry. Several of the callups are wrestlers who have been both popular and successful in NXT but something just does not click once they make the main roster. That seems to be the case with someone else.
Survivor Series 2019 was a packed show, but arguably no one stole the night more than Keith Lee. After eliminating Seth Rollins, Lee was the last man eliminated from the men’s elimination match. The following year, Lee would go on to become both the NXT North American and NXT Champion before moving up to the main roster in August. Things have not gone so well for him since and that might be the case for the time being.
According to Fightful Select, it is not clear what Lee will be doing in the future on Monday Night Raw. While Lee has had some limited success, his only major win on the Monday Night Raw roster came over Randy Orton at Payback. There is no word on what WWE plans to do with him, though he did lose in a handicap match to the Miz and John Morrison on Monday Night Raw. Lee is not currently booked to wrestle at Tables, Ladders and Chairs on Sunday.
Lee has had an up and down time so far. Check out his run on the main roster:
Opinion: I’m not sure what this is going to mean for Lee and that’s a scary feeling. WWE does not have the best track record when it comes to bringing NXT wrestlers up to the main roster as it seems that they get bored in a hurry. I hope that is not the case with Lee, who really does seem like someone who could be the next breakout star given his unique combination of size, charisma and athleticism.
