Well that’s certainly a good reason. Back at Summerslam, Becky Lynch turned on her best friend Charlotte after Charlotte won the SmackDown Women’s Title. This kicked off a heck of a feud between the two with Lynch being far more aggressive than she has been before. With September coming up soon, fans penciled in the two women for a match inside Hell in a Cell. That’s not what we’re getting though and some fans might be wondering why.
According to Mike Johnson via PWInsider Elite via NoDQ.com, the simple reason the match didn’t happen inside the Cell is because Vince McMahon didn’t want it to. Instead, McMahon wanted to see Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy inside the Cell, which is one of the matches that we’ll be seeing on Sunday’s show. There has been one women’s match inside the Cell, which took place two years ago when Charlotte faced Sasha Banks.
This would be a good stepping stone towards the Cell.
Opinion: That makes enough sense as Orton vs. Hardy has been a pretty violent feud and it’s not like it’s the worst thing in the world to not have Charlotte vs. Lynch in the Cell. The problem continues to be the Cell being locked into one spot on the calendar. You could have Lynch vs. Charlotte inside the Cell if it had more time to build, but since the Cell matches can only take place here, it doesn’t work out that way.
Which of these matches would you rather see inside the Cell? Who wins both of them? Let us know in the comments below.
