A little more clarification to the madness. Earlier this week on “Smackdown Live”, Jinder Mahal challenged Universal Champion Brock Lesnar to a match at “Survivor Series 2017”. This match hasn’t been the most well received in the world but it turns out there’s another reason for it taking place.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of Wrestlinginc.com, the idea of a champion vs. champion match has been floated around WWE for a good while now, though this version isn’t seen as a major match. Lesnar vs. Mahal is primarily meant to get Lesnar on the show in any way possible, leading the way to his next big match, which will likely be against Finn Balor at “Royal Rumble 2018”.

Here’s what Paul Heyman has to say about the potential match.

Paul Heyman responds to Jinder Mahal's WWE Survivor Series challenge to Brock Lesnar: WWE Now

Opinion: So to recap, they had nothing better to do with Lesnar so they threw him in there with any warm body who happened to be the Smackdown World Champion? This feels like another waste of time and another good example of why Lesnar not showing up makes “Monday Night Raw” look all the less logical.

Who do you think will win this match? Should it be taking place at all? Let us know in the comments below.
