The Empress of the Main Roster? If there’s one name in NXT who seems ready to go up to the main roster at any time, it’s Asuka. She’s completely dominated the NXT women’s division and has already set the record for the longest reign of any Women’s Champion in the promotion’s history. That only leaves her one thing for her to do and it seems to be starting on March 12.

According to Madison Square Garden’s website, Asuka will be filling in for Naomi in an eight woman tag as she teams with Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch and Tamina against Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, Natalya and Carmella. There is no word on if this could lead to a full time main roster spot or if Asuka is just filling in. She has worked three previous shows on the main roster, though they were over the span of a week with one in Hawaii and two in Japan.

Opinion: There are going to be a lot of sore heads in the Garden. Asuka is completely out of opponents to face down in NXT and it would make sense to move her up to the main roster. She’s been ready for the big leagues since the day she debuted and it’s high time for her to get the call.

Asuka and her challengers meet before TakeOver: San Antonio: WWE NXT, Jan. 25, 2017
