That was a bit risky. Last night at the “NXT” tapings at the University of Central Florida, Finn Balor made a surprise return and got in a fight with Bobby Roode to end the taping. It’s not likely that Balor is going to wind up back in NXT anytime soon, but one thing is clear: he’s still not medically cleared to get back in the ring.

According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, Balor was telling the truth when he told the NXT crowd that he wasn’t medically cleared to return to the ring. Balor has one more medical evaluation to get through at some point in early March. After that, he should be fully cleared to return to the ring. You can see Balor in the ring last night here.

Opinion: While Balor might not have been cleared to return, it’s a very good sign that he’s able to do something physical in a WWE ring. There’s no way WWE would let him be at risk of getting injured all over again, especially this close to “Wrestlemania XXXIII”. Balor seemed fine in the ring and that’s a good sign going forward.
