That man is a genius. There are very few bigger starts in wrestling today than Chris Jericho and very few who make wrestling work like he can. He’s become a legend in his own time and still puts on entertaining matches on the big stage. That was the case at Double Or Nothing, but that wasn’t all he had to do this weekend. Jericho was also scheduled for another appearance over the weekend but that didn’t happen…mostly.
Jericho had been scheduled to appear at Starrcast on Sunday morning for a live Talk Is Jericho podcast. However, Jericho did not show up as he was not willing to appear without receiving his thank you for everything he had brought to AEW. Instead of appearing live, a cardboard cutout was placed on the stage and when the time for the event was up, the cutout was moved. You can see some images of the cutout below, courtesy of Ringsidenews.com.
Jericho has been wanting his thank you for a long time now. Check out his you’re welcome from before the event:
Opinion: Now that’s how you act like a heel. Jericho is one of the few true artists still left in wrestling and this is a great way to get on the fans’ nerves. The fans are going to see Double Or Nothing and Starrcast as two different things and wouldn’t bet on Jericho skipping out on the segment. It’s a great way to anger the fans who are hard to anger and that’s where Jericho’s genius shines through.
Is this a great heel move? What do you think Jericho will try next? Let us know in the comments below.
