There’s your surprise. This weekend, the wrestling world was taken over by AEW and their debut event, Double Or Nothing. It wasn’t a question of would the company showcase themselves well, but who would they have to showcase themselves. In other words, it was clear that the company would have a surprise or two in store, and the big one came at the end of the show.

After Chris Jericho defeated Kenny Omega in the main event of Double Or Nothing, Jon Moxley interrupted Jericho’s victory speech and attacked Jericho and the match’s referee. Moxley also went after Omega, leading to a brawl with Omega being thrown off the stage to end the show. This is Moxley’s first wrestling appearance since he left WWE back in March, though he has been rumored to sign with AEW.

And of course it’s on video. Check out the debut and attack:

Opinion: While it might not be the biggest surprise, this is the kind of moment that the show needed to feel major. Moxley was a main event talent in WWE and having him show up in AEW as the big surprise at the end was a great call. Throw in the fact that he can now be more like his old self in AEW and he should be just fine. This is a big deal for the company and hopefully they can capitalize on their success.
