That isn’t good. As different as they may seem at times, wrestlers are still normal people underneath everything. You never know what kind of issues they might get into behind the scenes and they can cause severe problems for the wrestlers, as well as other people involved. Some of these situations are worse than others, and we might be seeing one of the worse.
Alberto Del Rio has gotten in some trouble over the years. This has included his host of issues with Paige, various issues with violence and all of the trouble that he has gotten in with wrestling. The former is far more serious though and that is the kind of thing that can change more lives than just his own. That might be the case we are going through here, as Del Rio is being accused of something rather serious.
According to FOX San Antonio, Del Rio, real name Jose A. Rodriguez Chucuan, is accused of sexual assaulting a woman and injuring her. The unnamed woman says that Del Rio sexually assaulted hero, with her injuries being photographed. He is also accused of slapping her in the head and then doing it again when she asked why he was did it in the first place. Del Rio is also accused of making her wear a dress and dance for him. When she said no, Del Rio threatened to take her son and “drop him in the middle of the road somewhere”. PW Insider reports that Del Rio has been released on $5,000 bond.
I don’t think Del Rio needs to be shown here. Check out some women in wrestling instead:
Opinion: I’m not sure how this is going to go but it does not sound good for Del Rio. There is a difference between some drunken fight in a club or no selling an event and a possible sexual assault. Del Rio has not been a major name for a long time now and that is going to be a big problem if he wants to get back into wrestling at a high level. If this winds up being true, Del Rio is going to be in some serious trouble and no smile is going to get him out of it.
